I feel that when I first came to class, I do not know
what is it about. So I will use ice kacang to describe
the lesson. The reason why I use ice kacang is that
I only see a layer of ice at first. The layer of the ice
refers to how I feel when I first step into a new
environment. Feeling a bit uneasy. Of course I see
the colours too. The colours refers to the computer,
how we spent time in class and my friends who are
in the same class as me.
After that as the time pass, I will finally eat finish
the ice and reach the fillings. The fillings are like
I start to understand the lessons and become closer
to some of the people in the class. Everything starts
to develop as the time pass.
Another reason why I use ice to describe the class is
because the environment is really cold. Just like the
temperature of ice kacang. Overall, I still like it very
much.
We had our second class test this morning.
I am super nervous before the test as I do not
really know what to study for the test since
lecture 6 - 10, I do not really find any difference
in it. The result of my test is not bad for today,
just that I get one mark lower as compared to
class test one.
As tomorrow is the dateline for all submission,
we spent our whole day rushing our portfolio.
Of course not everyone is doing it. Some of the
people are playing online games as per normal.
As for me, I only left a few blog reflection and I
am done.
We did tutorial 5 & 6 today. Our job is to combine
our findings into WIKI which will be due tomorrow too.
Some questions:
1. What is the significant learning experience for your group?
I feel that by doing group work, I learnt more about my
friends. I feel that it is fun to do group work. The main
thing that I learnt is the different style people in my group
ask and answer questions and of course their point of view in
certain things. Doing group work is a way to allow people
to communicate with one another.
2. As an individual contributor, what have you gained from this experience?
As an individual contributor, I feel that I carry a heavy
responsible as the stuff that the posted will be read by
others so I have to confirm that the things that I posted
are reliable for others to view. The place where I
contribute my work is at WIKI. With this, I learnt how to
edit in WIKI. I also learnt that there is a complete history
that will take note of the time and stuff added into the site.
3. What is the one most challenging experience you had?
The thing that I think is the most challenging is the part
where I have to to my first portfolio. This is my first time
doing portfolio so I did not really know what to do. Other
than this, lesson had just started and I still do not really
understand what is teacher talking about. Everything
was in chaos. I was really panicking that time as I do
not know anything at all yet. Other than that, with the
computer in front of me, I cannot control myself to not
use the computer.
4. What advice would you give to the next batch wiki groups as they start a similar project?
I will just tell them to try their best and it is really fun
and that they should enjoy it. I will also tell them make
one more copy of their work before saving at WIKI as
I don't know why everytime I save my work, everything
will not save and just disappear. Everytime when something
like that happen, I will feel like NOWAY!!!!!!!!!!
Feeling a little angry as everything is gone in one shot and all
my efforts when down the drain.
5. Would you use Wiki for research in your own Diplomas? Why?
It depends on what I am looking for. Not all information from
WIKI are reliable as everyone can edit WIKI as and when they
like. Although in WIKI I can find most of the things from there,
my view of it will still not change.
In the morning, nothing much was done and
most of the people are rushing to complete their
portfolio teo which will be due on wednesday. For
those who are not doing their portfolio, they went
to work on their respective topics. We also done a
group work which is to summarise lecture 9 to give people
a better view on waht is it about. The whole morning
continue to be like this until Taqinah and company
came into class and talk to us. It is actually qiute funny
but they reach my class quite late so they only came
in for awhile and it is time for lunch.
After lunch, we start to do our group work again.
The group members did not change at all. The topic that
we were going to talk about is Twitter. We did something on
if you were the CEO of twitter. After doing that, people will
start to ask questions and we have to answer. We are able to
reply back most of the question. However, most of it, we just
anyhow answer. It is super fun to do this.
Between Twitter and Blogging, I will still prefer to blog
as I really do not know what am I suppose to do to Twitter.
As for blog, I find it easier. I do not really use Twitter so I
do not know how it will enhance my learning of EIR.
Blogging is something like we can post all our experience on it.
I will say blogger might be useful as a research purpose. However,
I do not think Twitter is able to do it. Some blog provides
real life stories which will help the people who are doing on that topic.
The place that I want to go will be JAPAN. I want to see the
snow in Japan and the Cherry blossom there too. Other then that,
I love the cosplay in Japan. I want to try many different things in
Japan like go up Mount Fuji, visit the shrine and many other
places i want to visit when I am there. I also want to try the ramen
there. I want to visit the hot spring too. Just by talking about it
makes me feel excited. I will now show some pictures about Japan.
This is a peace memorial park in Hiroshima.
Hiroshima is the biggest island in Japan. It
is also the first city in the history that is
destroyed by nuclear bomb. There are five
central of attraction in Hiroshima and they
are Peace Park, Mazda Museum, Shukkeien
Garden, Hiroshima Downtown and Hiroshima
Castle.
Cherry Blossom can be viewed in many different
places like Ueno Park, Shinjuku Gyoen, Chidorgafuchi, Sumida Park, Aoyama Cemetery,
Koishikawa Botanical Garden, Meguro River
and Inokashira Park. Blossom viewing is called
hanami in Japanese. The place which is the most
crowded is the Ueon Park.
There are too many places that I wanna visit when I go to Japan.
Therefore, it is never enough to talk just through blogging.

Japan should be the place where people will want to visit the
most. Although the stuff there are quite expensive, I still
want to go there at least once.
We have the class test in the morning. Everyone receive
different questions. The test is done through the internet so
we can know the result of our test immediately after
the test. My result was not that bad after all. Before the
test, I was still afraid that I will fail the test and not get good
marks. However, everything was not that bad after all.
We did our practical 8 & 9 today. We did an activity in
secondlife and I am always lost most of the time.
We need to choose a site from anyone of the practical
and talk about it. We talk about it by talking about its
purpose, coverage, Authority, Currency, Accuracy,
Accessible and they way everything is organized.
Today, Ms Lin evaluate our strengths and this
allows me to know more about myself like what
my strengths are and so on. I feel that the results
evaluated are quite truth after all as most of it really
matches my personality. I also get to know more
search facilities today.
During the afternoon, it is ms Farida lesson again.
We did practical 6 and tutorial 1 & 2.
For Practical 6, we log on to TP's Digital Library
Portal Research Gateway. The website I went to is
http://spark.tp.edu.sg/ . The site there provides
databases. I use the site to search for
information on HIV AIDS. However, I feel that
the invisible web is not very useful as I can only
find one document that is related to my topic.
The next site that I went to is
http://library.books24x7.com .
This site is also known as the invisible web.
I cannot find any available information about
HIV AIDS. Therefore, I do not find the site to be
useful at all. The result I get are also mainly about
technology instead.
Personally, I feel that using the invisible web to
search for information is not really useful as I
cannot really find all the information I need.
I think that by using the different search facilities,
I will be able to get more information which will
help me in my work.
I also feel that meta-search is the most useful
among all the search-engine I know. I feel that
search-engine provide me the most useful information
so far. The information provided there are also
much more reliable as compared to invisible web.
Although very little information are available,
most of the information given are related to what I
am looking for. However, I will still use invisible
web for my own diploma when necessary.
As for the WIKI, I had learnt how to share the stuff
I know there.
As for Tutorial 1 & 2, we did group work.
My group members are Zhi Keong, Zera, Li Tene and Randy.
Our mission was to think five question by reading through
Lecture 4. Answer must also be provided. So each of us
think of one question and Zera posted everything up WIKI.
That is the end of the first activity.
Next, we talk about Internet. I realise that internet has
somehow become part of everyone's life. Looking through
what some of the people post, there are many different
stuff that we need internet to work on.
I think that it is fun to post my view on the discussion forum
as it is my first time doing something like that which make
me feel excited. I also feel that it is alright for me to post all
my views freely as nothing is right and nothing is wrong
as everyone has the freedom of speech.
I feel that having a discussion here is much better than having
conversation the traditional way. I feel that it is better this
way as we are able to express ourselves more freely. As it is
sometimes quite awkward to have a face-to-face conversion.
I find this activity very useful as I will be able to somehow
communicate some of the people in the class.
The first half of the day, we touch up on our
portfolio one. Actually I had completed my portfolio
beforehand so I do not really have much to do in the
morning. For those who had finished, they are free
to do anything they wanted and I am one of them
of course.
We did our practical 7 too. We have to read a long
article about Citizen Journalism and write on a piece
of paper on what we think Citizen Journalism is about.
Most of the people feel that it is something like communication.
Next, we visited the stomp website to look for articles related
to citizen journalism. My group did on the article that is
about Jack Neo's scandal.
For the article, my group only use three criteria to evaluate
about stomp.com. The criteria we used are Accuracy,
currency and Coverage. I feel that these are the top three
criteria that people will want to know. Therefore, I decided to
use those three criteria to cover up on the article.
I also feel that collaborating my stuff into WIKI is super fun
and it shows my hard work which makes me feel happy.
Today, I did the strength quest which tells us what
is our strenth. My strengths are Includer, Woo,
Communication, Adaptability and Activator.
I didn't know that I really have all these strength at first
especially the one on communication as from what I
heard from my teacher, communication means that
someone who can do presentation well. However, I
don't really think that it applies on me as I am afraid
to speak in front of many people. I am not very sure if the
rest of the results apply on me as I have not heard the
evaluation of what each strength means.
After the quest, we played games. It was super fun
my group win the game.
When we came back from lunch, we did the microsoft word
stuff which was so much better then the excel. Today is really
a fun day.
Today I learnt about powerpoint slide and excel.
For the powerpoint slide, I was still able to complete
some of the task given to me. As powerpoint as
something that I had use before, it was not much of a
problem.
When it comes to excel, I really wish to give up. As there
are formulas and everything which I don't even know.
It was my first time using excel to do real work and not
for fun. But after the whole lesson, I get a better view of it.
Although there are still parts I don't reall understand.
Today is a long and tiring day..
We did practical 3 today and learn how to
site link people.. Actually I did my Practical 1 and 2
today also. We did lots of research today on the topics
we chose. I chose the topic on AIDS. Looking for the
information on AIDS is like looking at some weird
photos.
It was quite difficult to find a blog on AIDS. I still
manage to find it in the end after a long day of
researching. By the way, the video played during
class was quite nice.
Looking through the different information on HIV and AIDS,
I refresh my memory on how they are pass and treated. As
I had learned about it when I was in secondary school.
AIDS is also not passed easily unless there is contact in blood
so people should not treat these patients as if as they are
monster and so on.
I was not impressed by the googles search engine as
that is what I used normally to search for information.
This is also my first time doing citation. I think that
by doing citation when will know how recent the sites are,
how reliable they are by knowing who the author are.
I also learn how to search for information more efficiently
by using some other keywords so that there will be more
results available. I search through Google for the required
information by typing (impact OR effect*) AND
(youth* OR teens*) AND (AIDS HIV OR Sexually Disease)
For practical one, I found a forum and a site which is related
to HIV AIDS. I feel that participating in a discussion forum
is something quite new so I feel that it is quite fun. Personally,
I feel that the discussion forum is both useful and not useful
as it is only useful when someone commented on it. If not
the forum will be concluded as useless.
This is my first time doing site feed. I had trouble linking
people with site feed. Personally, I do not like to link
people using site feed. Although using site feed allows
people to read the things on the blog more easily. However,
I do not like it as I feel that people's effort are not being
shown.
I also have to link my friend's blog link to my own blog.
Lucky there is this function there in the site. If not i will
have a hard time memorising other people links.
It is also my first day doing the WIKI collaborating.
I had fun doing it. However, I felt kind of shock as
I realise what I did was totally wrong and so I
have to delete everything in the WIKI site. I think that
WIKI is a chance for others to recognise the hard work
that one put in and to show what we had learn.

today. These are part of the ice-breaking activities.
It is fun adding people in facebook and msn haha.
I also added people in TWITTER!!!! Which is super
new to me...
Although I really miss my friends but I still had
fun in the new environment today. We also had
a TEA SESSION with our course manager. I had
fun talking to them very much.. My course manager is
very friendly and it was nice talking to her.
I also learn a lot about the different resources today.
This is also the blog that I had created for this project
since this is not my first time blogging so I think
this is quite easy. Other then that I had
also created my Twitter account. I really don't
know what am i suppose to do to it.
If I have $500 to spend.............What would I want?!?
I want to buy the new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T200 camera
I think that it is very cool as it has a smile detection function.I also feel that the camera with the touch screen function is damn cool. My old camera is also a bit lag so I want to change my camera.
The next item that I would like to purchase will be
the apple iphone. I think that the function of the phone is damn cool. I also enjoy playing the games in it.I think that the prupose of shopping online is to bring ease tothe people. Some people are lazy to go out to shop for the stuff they want. Other then this reason, people might be purchasing stuff overseas through the internet for stuff that they cannot get in Singapore. 
I want to buy this ear phone as I had always wanted a earphone model that look like this.
The earphone I have now are not very good too. I might really buy this to replace my old one. Personally, I prefer the white one as itmatches the colour of my handphone.

My birthday is on 15 april (PRESENTS).
I have one sister who is currently studying in Damai
Secondary School. She is secondary two this year.
I am Diploma in FBI. FBI is not some police or detective.
FBI stands for Financial Business Informatics.
I join this course as I know there will be opportunity
to work in the bank and other then that, my friend
is also entering the course which make me feel more
confident in joining the course.
My favourite past time activities are watching
Taiwanese drama and listening to music.
My favourite singers are Jay Chou, JJ lin and many
others. I feel that both Jay Chou and JJ lin are very
talented as they can act and sing.
My favourite Bands are Fahrenheit, Lollipop S.H.E,
Mayday and some others. I seldom listen to english
music. Therefore, I only have favourite chinese
singers and bands.
I also love to watch Taiwanese, Korean and Japanese
drama. very much. I am currently watching down with
love act by Ella and Jerry. The storyline is wonderful.
I think that most will be the same as me and like to
watch drama as it will allow us to imagine many sweet
things.
My favourite website is facebook as that is the place
where I can communicate and share some of the phtots
I took with my friends. Other then that I can also post how
I feel about certain things and recieve comments about it.
I can also play games there whenever I feel bored. Quizzes
are also available in the website. I also like to visit Youtube
as I can watch videos from that website.
Whenever I have nothing to do, I also like to take pictures
and talk on phone with my friends or even webcam.
